Description: The sgian dubh is the traditional knife carried as part of Scottish Highland dress along with the kilt. It is worn tucked into the sock with only the pommel visible.
D'Holder's Ebony Sgian Dubh is true to style. He made very few knives of this style. This one was made in the early 1990s and has been meticulously cared for. The 440C stainless steel blade has been hollow ground and fileworked. The handle has been carved on the right side and is set with nickel silver pins (The left side is traditionally smooth as this side faces the body when worn). Fittings are nickel silver with the gallery wire details formed from sterling silver. The handle is finished with an amber cap. Accompanied by leather sheath with sterling silver and nickel silver details. A real find and a very rare D'Holder!
