Description: Anders performed a traditional Japanese clay tempering on this blade, resulting in a unique temper line (hamon). The turned back hamon at the spine is particularly challenging (and appealing) and shows tremendous control over the process. A double hamon was created by completing this process twice and results in a double differential heat treatment line. As a result of this technique, the center of the blade is soft and resilient, whereas edge is very hard and will hold an exceptional edge.
The highly figured handle is formed from buckeye burl. The warm tones in the handle nicely compliment the textured copper guard and pin. Anders' attention to detail is complete, and his fit and finish is exceptional.
