Description: Journeyman Smith Gary Rodewald makes an exceptional hunting knife. Not only is Gary a great forger, creating knives with exceptional edge holding, but he hand is carved to fit perfectly in the hand.
The clip point blade was hand forged from W1 carbon steel. A hand satin finish brings out the differential heat treatment line called a hamon. This zone heat treating is created using a traditional Japanese technique where clay is packed onto the spine. The resulting blade has a softer, and more supportive spine and a hard, long lasting cutting edge. Nickel silver pins and guard nicely set off the carved desert ironwood. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
