Description: Coming back from the Blade show with journeyman smith test knives is one of my great highlights of the year. Five knives were made by each applicant that are the height of their work. These knives were judged by ABS Mastersmiths on fit and finish, as well as general artistry. The standards are exacting. This skinning knife was one of the five knives that Geoff selected as the best of his work for judging by the masters.
Geoff began by hand forging the blade to shape from 5160 carbon steel. A hand rubbed satin finish creates an elegant appearance and an heirloom quality. The nickel silver guard meets perfectly with the stabilized buckeye burl handle. The handle has been nicely sculpted, for a secure, comfortable hold.
