Description: The sturdy dendritic D-2 carbon steel blade has a fileworked spine for a sure thumb purchase. A tapered tang results in a perfect balance. Dendritic steel produces a blade with a very bitey edge, which is all the more impressive due to the cryogenic heat treatment by Gerome Weinand. This blade was hardened to Rc60-61. The birch handle has been stabilized and dyed so as to easily hold up to the challenges of being used outdoors. The dramatic, swirling grain structure shows off greens and light browns. Sheep horn nicely compliments the wood. Red spacers allow the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The knife fits very well in the hand. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
