Description: This is a true masterpiece by Mastersmith PJ Tomes. Both blades -- a spay blade and a clip point -- were hand forged from 52100 carbon steel. This steel has long been among my favorite knife blade steels and has an incredibly 'bity' edge that lasts better than nearly any other steel. PJ has specialized in 52100 and truly understands the idiosyncrasies of its heat treatment. The resulting knives will be extremely high performance.
Mammoth ivory bark scales are surrounded by 416 stainless steel bolsters. These were meticulously engraved by Mastersmith Steve Dunn. Steve's engraving is some of the best in the business -- in fact, he teaches the engraving course at the GRS school. The floral scrolls are highly detailed and show off skill to match the knife.
The 416 stainless steel frame incorporates separate locks for the two blades. This is a unique mechanism that PJ developed. It has smooth action and nicely centered blades. Excellent work throughout!
