Description: Riaan Manser is a full-time knife maker from South Africa. Manser works under the brand name 3LegDog -- named for his pit bull cross dog which lost its hind leg when still a puppy. Manser and his dog spent many days and nights sitting along side each other in the knifemaking studio. Regretfully, his beloved dog passed away during the summer of 2018.
This Custom Model P6 Flipper blade is hand ground stainless damascus forged by Vegas Forge, with a Rockwell hardness of 59. The features a high flat grind. It nicely shows off the dramatic pattern.
The blade runs on Rauch caged ceramic bearings. Stainless steel bearings can wear away, resulting in uneven action over time. Tool steel bearings can oxidize making the action rough. Ceramic bearings are the best of all worlds. Extremely hard and wear resistant, they are also inert and will not oxidize. The blade is well centered, has silky-smooth, drop-shut action, and is easily opened single-handed using the flipper tab.
Handle scales are black G-10 with rag Micarta inlays. The scales are nicely domed for a perfect grip. Titanium liners surround a black G-10 backspacer. The handle is completed with a titanium pocket clip mounted for tip-up, right handed carry.
Exceptional work throughout!
