Description: Dale Miller has been making knives since 2015, after many years of working in wood, building musical instruments, speakers, hand planes, and other pieces. He uses knives in the kitchen, regularly making charcuterie and tsukemono (Japanese pickles) and uses this experience to inform his knife design and execution. His mission is to make functional, beautiful knives out of the best available materials. Lately he has been making high quality slipjoint and linerlock folders. This Persian Linerlock really shows Dale's skills as an up-and-coming maker!
The blade is perfectly centered and has silky-smooth drop-shut action with no blade play. The blade runs on caged ceramic ball bearings. The knife can be deployed easily using the right-handed thumbstud. The Sterling silver thumbstud is set with a faceted sapphire.
The upswept blade is forged from Dale's own feather pattern damascus, combining 1080 and 15n20 carbon steels and hardened to 61 Hrc to ensure excellent edge holding. The high contrast pattern is extremely engaging. Dale's maker mark is on the left side of the blade.
The handle combines polished moose antler scales with hot gun-blued 1018 mild steel bolsters. The bolsters are inlaid with 24k gold. This is the first knife featuring Dale's inlay and the results are exceptional. Titanium liners are anodized blue and fileworked into a vine pattern. The liners surround a forged damascus backbar. Torx screw construction is used throughout. The linerlock features a AEB-L stainless steel lockbar insert hardened to 61 Hrc to ensure a longer lock life.
Excellent work throughout!
