Description: Visiting with Mastersmith Neels van den Berg on my trips to South Africa is always a treat. Neels is well known for his war hammers, spike hawks, and highly refined daggers.
This Damascus Stiletto shows his skills at their best. It was inspired by 17th century Italian and French stilettos. The triangular blade was forged to shape from his own Shattered Glass pattern damascus, combining 1075 and 70Ni8 carbon steels. Each side is flat ground. The blade moves into an octagonal mid section then culminates into a sculpted cylindrical base.
The handle is antiqued bronze that has been beautifully contoured and hand textured for an elegant, heirloom appearance. The stiletto is lightweight and comfortable to hold.
This is a classy and unique piece that is sure to be a centerpiece in your collection!
