Description: Gaétan Beauchamp is a maker out of Canada well known for his excellent fit and finish on his high quality hunting knives. This elegant knife is a perfect example of Beauchamp's clean work and will be perfect as a bird & trout or for breaking down large cuts of meat while out in the field. This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in brand new condition and by all appearances it could have been made yesterday!
The 5-1/2 inch blade is hand ground ATS-34 stainless steel. ATS-34 stainless steel provides excellent edge holding with good chip resistance and outstanding corrosion resistance. A hand rubbed satin finish adds an heirloom quality to the blade. The spine has been domed to provide a comfortable thumb rest. Beauchamp's mark is on the right side of the blade.
The handle is ancient woolly mammoth bone set on a full tang using pins. The bone is highly polished and shows the unique matrix that mammoth bone provides. The scales are perfectly dovetailed to polished 416 stainless steel bolsters.
To keep the knife close at hand, a pouch style leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
