My name is Greger Forselius. I am 46 years old and live in a small place called Kungsängen, which is approximately 30 km north of Stockholm in Sweden. When I'm not making knives I work as a carpenter.
I am interested in everything that has to do with nature, animals and fishing. Two week every year, I fish in the north in the land of the midnight sun. It is so quiet and relaxing -- only me, my son, our dog and a lot of reindeer.
It was on one of these hunting trips that my knifemaking began. While I was fishing, I lost my new handmade knife that I had purchased in the market in jokkmokk. This happened three years in a row. It didn't take me long to start thinking, "I have to start making my own knives." That was in 2001.
When I make my knives, I design them with use in mind. I work with traditional Nordic styles and predominantly make hunting knives. I often let my imagination run and come up with original handle combinations.
Though I only started making knives in 2001, it is my passion, and I know that I will never quit.
